What's the difference between MCA and Umno?
Nothing much, expect that the latter is the ruler and the former feeds on crusts and leftovers.
Is there any similarities?
Yes; both wants power, position and wealth.
Both says they fight for their community's benefits.
However, the empirical reality is: Yes, the community benefited; that community is the sample within the party leadership - a small group of cadre within the community with the exclusion of the community at large.

i was laughing reading the local Sabah newspaper today. a good way to spend the Sunday morning.
UNMO takes the buffet.
MCA, MIC, Gerakan and the other BN parties take the leftovers.
The crust and crumbs are left to the rakyat.
Service to the community is a facade for self-accumulated wealth.

Speak loud is the job for "rakyat jelata" like us, not for them. They are incharge, with 4 ministers and 6 deputy ministers in the cabinet. They speak but not heard by UMNO and always like to maintain silence in the parliament.
Now, they want to speak louder than before. I hope they don't damage the UMNO hearing system. May be, they can write to UMNO when they suffer voice loss or UMNO suffers the hearing loss.
Will MCA speak up louder or speak out louder? Good luck to them!

I have heard ppl who declare proudly they are members of DAP, Pakatan (now), Gerakan (formerly!)
But NEVER MCA !
Even Umno members proclaim their affiliation - proudly & maybe for reasons best known to themselves & cronies but NEVER MCA
So I have ALWAYS wondered who the f are the members & WHO the heck are voting for them, and more importantly WHY the heck are they STILL shouting all that BS even after more years than I have lived*?

I must confess: I am a MCA member who is proud of a Chinese political party who had historically worked with Umno and MIC to bid for the Independence of Malaya.
Since Tan Siew Sin retired and MCA lost the Finance Minister post, MCA has become a party begging for the crumbs and crusts for themselves and their family members. The community at large gets a few vernacular primary schools. That's the MCA of which I have been a member since 1980.

Since becoming a member, I had not resign, not attended meetings, not paid any fees. But I think there are people who will pay the fees on my behalf as long as they need the single vote.
As such, I am still a member.
My husband is a MCA member too. He registered under life membership.
He was a secretary to one of the youth division many many years ago.
But now, nothing is relevant at all. His vote always go to the ........
By the way, do you still love your party? LOL
