Umno deputy-president candidate, Senator Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib, is aware that there are people talking about his apparent lack of fluency in English.
Muhammad said that he was the only Malay who graduated from Universiti Malaya with a first class honours in History in 1979.
“All my previous exams were also conducted in English - the London Cambridge Examinations and the Malaysian Cambridge Examinations.”
Muhammad added that when he was the Selangor Mentri Besar, he had managed to produce dozens of millionaires.
“The thing is, I am only the Rural and Regional Development Minister now which is why you would only be reading small stories about me.
“Try and give me the International Trade and Industries Ministry and you’ll see,” he quipped.

Is there such an an exam known as the London Cambridge Examinations and Malaysian Cambridge Examinations?? As far as I remember, in our time we sat for the Lower Certificate of Education, (LCE) in Form 3 now known as PMR and the Malaysian Certificate of Education (MCE or GCE "O" levels) in Form 5, now known as SPM.
No wonder his academic qualifications so canggih ones!

During his time, the exam for Form 5 was Malaysian Certificate of Education(MCE) and the Form 6 exam was Higher School Certificate(HSC) which both were in collaboration with the University of Cambridge,UK.
As for Form 3 exam, it was call the Lower Certificate of Education(LCE) and not the London Cambridge Examinations.
This bozo has also mistaken MCE as Malaysian Cambridge Examinations instead of Malaysian Certificate of Education.

I am no fan of MuhdX2 but you people seem to only know LCE and MCE. Is there anyone old enough here who took their Form 5 exam before 1971 (I did MCE). It was know as SC, Senior Cambridge then. Exam set and marked in Cambridge.

Since Mat Taib graduated in 1979 and assuming his degree was a 4 years course, then he might took his HSC in 1975 ie Form 6 and his Form 5 in 1973 asumming that he did not retake any exams. Since it was after 1971, the exam he took in Form 5 should be MCE and not SC.
If he had taken MCE in 1973 and as all the subjects were then conducted in English it is not possible that his English is bad unless his grades for all the English taught subjects were bad or just a pass ie grade 8.
Just wonder what medium instruction was his degree in MU was conducted in? Malay? Jawi?, Arabic?, and definitely not English.... ha ha ha ha
Come on you guys. We are on to his English proficiency here and not his political ideologies. In case you guys don't know, Tan Sri speaks so much better English than the current UN Sec-general from S.Korea and closer to home, Tan Sri Mohd also speaks English better than Tan Sri Lim Keng Yaik. Who cares whether it is Before or After the Aussie case. It is NOW that matters cos if he is elected as the DPM, he may soon be the new PM if the French govt's ongoing investigation is anything to be worried about.
Some people seem to forget what he said before lah!

We(I) know that he is very fluent in English, I think many Malaysians know that but the fact that he can lie with his eyes wide opened at the Australian court is the issue here. So what if becomes the DPM, do you want someone who can lie thru his teeth to be our leader? Maybe you do cause he speaks Cambridge English but many of us prefer a leader who has more to offer than be able to speak fluent Cambridge English.
