Lonely women hogging 991 - ‘They call just to chat with staff’

Some 97% of calls to the Civil Defence Department's toll-free line 991 are prank calls – many from lonely women looking for companionship.

Until May this year, 214,976 of the 221,522 calls to the number were prank calls, and the Government has to bear the charges (to Telekom) amounting to at least RM64,000 considering that each call costs 30 sen.

The department's director-general, Datuk Jamel Ariffin, said: “Many women called just to chat with our personnel. But we can tell whether the call is genuine after asking the callers several questions.”

Kuala Terengganu recorded the highest number of prank calls with 38,345, followed by Kota Baru (21,235), Kuantan (20,762), Kota Kinabalu (20,143), Johor (19,950), Kuching (18,245) and Ipoh (18,048).

Last year, out of 671,667 calls to the number, 98% were prank calls with Kuala Terengganu again topping the list, registering 110,562 of such calls, followed by Kuantan (108,825 calls).

On why Kuala Terengganu had the highest number of prank calls, Jamel, who was speaking to reporters during a meet-the-media session at the department here yesterday, said: “The people were probably jobless.”

What are the guys in Trengganu doing; why can't they take care of those women who need companion? For those with husbands, then, what are those husbands doing to their wife? Is it that they had too many wifes or Trengganu and Kuantan had to many women? Maybe, they should migrate to Sarawak as there is more men and more loving men to take care of them. ....OPPs sorry. Kuching has 18,245 calls too ...Budak Budak Kuching pun tak guna! Maybe, we should look at Guys in Penang, Kedah, Melaka and maybe overseas import like Indonesians, Myanmars, Bangladeshis and Orang Aslis for help .....Help, Help, Help, all those guys, do you hear? Kuala Lumpur guys are not interested as they have a lot of niceties made-in-China, young and charming and competent, and they have always done a good job as judging from the increasing numbers of female tourist that are continually arriving from China and settling down in KL "peacefully".

Please wake up all MEN from the triple K States (KKK)- Kelantan, Kuantan and Kuching, plus Trengganu, and do your nice job (Please don't blow the job) & Take Good Care of Tangachi ...of these lonely compassionate chicks.... and check for SARs and BIRD-FLU diseases if there is any physical contact made. Just make sure that Norita-type Syndrome Crisis does not Erupt!

Abang Hanif, what about you? Take some rest and ponder-eh? You are experienced and a lovingfool and free-to-try man now. Don't worry as the smelly men is still around to take the blame.
