Housewife Zauyah Md. Noor, 62, was made to believe she was HIV-positive when the Selama hospital examine her blood sample on March 16. She was then referred to Taiping hospital for a second test and the results confirmed her as HIV-positive.
On July 22, a doctor from Selama hospital inform the family that Zauyah had been wrongly diagnosed but she had already died on July 12, due to renal cancer at the Ipoh hospital.
“After the humiliation, pain and suffering, how dare the hospital authorities atone for their blunder with just a telephone call?” remarked Mohd Zaidi Basir, 39, Zauyah’s son.
