Cop Drive Toyota MR2 to foil Robbery

Cop Posted by Picasa

At 11.50am on 5th. October, nine robbers stormed into a wholesaler's house in Taman Seputeh, which hoarded cigarettes worth some RM150,000 and take off with the goods.

But the robbery was foiled by police, who acting on a tip-off, arrived a little later and arrested all of them. Two of the robbers were injured in the shootout that ensued.

City CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Abdul Aziz Bulat said a 10-man police team from the city police headquarters arrived and surprised the robbers.

“One of them even rammed his Proton Waja into a Toyota MR2 driven by a police officer, forcing us to fire several shots.”

Syabas to the Police for the good job done.

But can the IGP please explain why a police officer would drive an MR2 sports convertible to foil the robbery? Wouldn't a landrover or a truck, or at most a Proton Perdana car be good enough to foil the Proton Waja driven by the robbers?

Or, maybe, if the police wanted to look like Beverly Hills Cop style; then use a Ferari or Porsche then.

I love the MR2 .... please sir, you don't have to use it to beat a Waja!!!
