Parliamentary Dogs Could No Longer Bark

In the beginning .... this is not a story about Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden... It was Proton and Mahathir, and the AP-ple.

The blame was not Apple ... but AP!

The two Maha - thir and leel; they launch incendiary attacks on the only Eve; the lady responsible for distributing the AP-ple to the Maha-cronies.

The reason: Proton sales were down 40%!

In the local domestic market, Proton sales drop 40% and Proton Perdana was unwanted.

Gen2 received no enquiries.

Only Waja managed some better results, thanks to the support from the government procurement who uped their police petrol vehicles.

The Winner of Proton's losses in market share- Hyundai and Kia Motor! Hyundai Sonata was preferred over Perdana; Kia Spectra was preferred over Waja; Gen2 was hardly seen on the road.

To add salt to the wounds, Kancil and Kenari were selling well.

To improve the bottom-line of the financial reports, thousands of Proton cars were exported to those distributors who do not want them unless they were sold on consignment basis, that is, payment will be made only on actual sales. Unfortunately, sales were not done as consumers have better choice.

As a result, hundreds of millions will have to be written down in the books of Proton account. This resulted in massive loss provisions and the account books turned RED.

Shareholders will be screaming at the board of directors, in particular, their then CEO.

Thus, the ultimate had to happen - Mahaleel was booted out by the new chairman of Proton.

They had to find a scapegoat; but there was none!

Ah, they can make one out of it

Eureka, Eureka, ... the APs!!!!

This will be a good object to justify the failures, so they think.

And there is one man who can do the damage, because he is a referent power, and he is Proton's Advisor.

So, they used him to pour diatribes.

The missiles will hit MITI and Eve, and she would have to succumb and debilitated.

But she was known as the Iron-Lady. She would not succumb to these dark forces. She stood her ground and defended stoutly. If she had to fail, it wouldn't be for the reasons of AP; the dark forces will have to try harder and use far superior poisons.

After days and weeks of Parliamentary sessions where so much was spoken in her absence, and so many warnings issued by the Ruling Party and goovernment backbenchers, ONLY one man stood to challenge her - he is LIM KIT SIANG, the Parliamentary Opposition Leader. You can read his article here.

In the words of Kit (this is what he prefers to be called):

The two touted Barisan Nasional “resident firebrand” MPs, Mohd Aziz (Sri Gading) and Bung Moktar Radin (Kinabatangan) were not breathing fire in Parliament yesterday. Although garbed in sackcloth and gulping water, they were not prepared for self-immolation but wanted me to be immolated.

To demonstrate their penitence for daring to speak up and do what was right in Parliament on Monday, i.e. to support my privilege motion under Dewan Rakyat Standing Order 26(1)(p) to refer the Minister for International Trade and Industry, Rafidah Aziz and the MITI secretary-general Sidek Hassan to the Committee of Privileges, the two government “resident firebrands” in Parliament were prepared not only to eat their words, deny that they had supported my motion but even to launch personal attacks on me to prove their loyalty not just to Barisan Nasional but to their continued privileges as BN MPs.

Barisan Nasional backbenchers were upset over AP list naming MPs saying their image has been affacted.

“This is how the people perceive us now; thinking we are making profits from the APs,” Datuk Wan Junaidi, the BN-MP for Santubong said.

Datuk Mohammed Aziz, the BN-MP for Sri Gading said MPs were now made to look like they were part of the AP problem as a result of the list.
Datuk Raja Zainuddin Raja Omar, the BN-MP for Larut said MITI should explain the reasons APs were given to MPs.

NST reported on September 23 that Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz had openly slammed Datuk Seri Rafidah for not turning up to answer questions fielded by Barisan MPs on the Approved Permits (AP) issue.

Nazri was not happy over the names of Barisan Nasional MPs being publicly revealed as recipients of the APs and the lack of explanation why such individual APs were issued to them.

“It was as if the revelation was meant to twist the arms of MPs so as not to raise the issue. Nazri had reported his displeasure to the Deputy prime Minister.

On September 29, Deputy prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had instructed Rafidah to go and explain to Parliament on the AP issues brought up.

Tun Dr Mahathir had on September 30, advised Rafidah to tackle the APS issue in Parliament and leave less important ministerial matters to her subordinates.

“We know she is very busy with her work but some of the less serious issues can be taken on by her deputies while she attends Parliament.”

“This is a serious matter and from the look of it, all MPs deem it to be so too.”

Mahathir was commenting on the Cabinet’s directive to Rafidah to appear in Parliament to reply to questions on the AP controversy.

Finally, yesterday, she was there to take on them.

So what?

What had they got to say?

They had so much to talk about her during her absence.

Now, she is there; will they take her on?

The penultimate ending ... in the parliamentary sitting to trash her, she came out the winner; but in her words:

"Much to do about NOTHING."

It was clear that UMNO was the designer of the AP system, and the Prime Ministers over the decades had approved/consented to the process and delivery system which had allowed a few cronies to built business empires from mole hills.

Everybody within the oligarch benefitted; and only ant-colony suffered - Proton.

Nobody cares about that ant, so far, except the retired PM Mahathir as he was the man who created this baby colony.

He had installed his cadre Mahaleel as the CEO to chart the future of proton; and Mahaleel is now chop-off from Proton.

What's left is for Mahathir to plod-on as he remains as it's Advisor.

The SAGA will not end here. It will move into second gear, and third gear.

Rafidah, no matter how strong will have to succumb someday. She would have to go; but she must be allowed to move out with honour. There are more to it; but untold. Rafidah knows her card and the cards played by her nemesis. She is no chicken. She can take on wolves and serpents.

In the words of Christ; those who had not sin can cast the first stone.

In the dysfunctional system of governance, you hardly can see clean hands, let alone, clean legs. All our ministers were multi-millionaires or billionaires, if you take into consideration their childrens' net worth.

They can parade white hands; but that is because they wear white gloves.

Kayveas was right; our system is more like secret societies in action.

You see and read what the oligarchy wants you to know and see.

The main medias were controlled by the oligarchy and are only used to promote and advertise knowledge and information that suits the system managers and political masters' intent and wishlist.

We call this; the Malaysia-Boleh System. Mahathir should not complain anymore. he was as much a part of the system design, if not the authentic designer of the whole system of kleptorism.

Don't Cry for Me, Malaysia ... just weep in silence.
