DID D-G said its only $80,000 loses

DID Director-general Datuk Keizrul Abdullah has come out to clarify that the amount of loses burgled is actually only $50,000 to $80,ooo Ringgit and not $1 million as reported.

Only $6,000 cash was lost and that too, belongs to his wife; not his.

The jewellery stolen cost only $400 (30 years ago), his Datukship Medal, a brooch given by his grandmother and an ankle bracelet belonging to his wife are intangible in value.

Other than that, the thief took away some buttons from his baju melayu. I can't understand why the thief wanted the buttons as they are worth a few ringgit only. Maybe, the buglar thought the buttons are antiquette and belongs to former Hang Tuah and Sultan Mansor Shah.

Keizrul explain that the laptop was given to him by the government for official use. I am sure that laptop can't cost $20,000 as reported.

So, please don't cast aspersion on his character and integrity. The Press should apologise and explain why they had reported the loss to be $1 million. Maybe, Keizrul can consider to take an action for defamation.

By the way, the Insurance company was seen rejoicing as they won't have to pay for the $1 million anymore. So, their bonus for the year will not be reduced as a result of this saving. Teh Tarik dua!!!!
