Yvonne Foong - Seeking the Journey of Life

It was heartening to read StarTwo today for unveiling the situation and plight of a girl who had fought through the onerous path in life in seeking remedy, not of wealth, not of prosperity, not of crave of wants, but a need but for a cure, seeking basic and normal health; and for a reason in life, so as to live to the fullest, and in search of the meaning of life.

This is the heartbreaking news of 19-year-old Evonne Foong who had suffered a genetic disorder of the nervous system - neurofibromatosis(NF) which had affected her physical self.

"There are many NF patients who are under-diagnosed. I had remained under-diagnosed for 3 years. So I clearly understand the ambiguity and mental suffering of being uncertain about the sudden deterioration of health caused by NF," said Yvonne.

"...people only came to know about me and my illness through my blog," Yvonne said. However, Yvonne was not alone in her fight against NF. Many bloggers had stood by her and had within their very means tried to help in whatever ways and options available to partake in her pain. (I am the late blogger on her plight).

Yvonne will be publishing a book, titled I'M NOT SICK, JUST A BIT UNWELL which details her battle with her disease.

Those who wants to know more about NF can visit: www.nfmalaysia.org , Wikipedia.org, www.nfinc.org , www.nfincne.org , www.nfmidatlantic.org.

Yvonne has initiated a T-shirt fundraiser named HEART-4-HOPE, hopefully to raise at least RM230,000 needed for her to undergo treatment in the United States. The T-shirt will be sold at RM30 each.

I had a wish for this new year: will all my friends, buddies, and students gratuitiously seek to contribute to the plights of Yvonne and the many others in pain and grief and who are seeking not wealth, but health.

Those who wants the T-shirt as a symbol of graciousness and charitable self, you can obtain it at www.yvonnefoong.com , or you may get it at Kid Chan Studio in Bangsaria, Jac's & Jan's in Damansara Heights and InKafe in ss15, Subang Jaya.

I hope Yvonne can also make available the T-shirts at all towns and cities throughout the nation so that many more others who had a charitable heart can contribute their little towards a good cause. I am sure many bloggers and friends in various towns and cities are willing to carry stocks of those T-shirts to distribute it to the charitable public.

At the same time, I hope Yvonne can provide a bank account number for willing contributors to bank-in their donations. Please consider to contribute to show our empathy.
