Telekom Blames Debt-collector for mistakes

Telekom Malaysia Bhd acknowledged that the RM800 trillion phone bill was a typo mistake. However, Telekom corporate communication general manager Mariam Bevi Batcha was reported to have said:

"It was not our mistake. It's the debt collector's mistake. We had given a stern warning to the agency."

The debt collector is an agency employed by Telekom. Legally, Telekom is fully responsible for whatever mistakes their agents made. How could they claim it is not their mistake?

Mariam contended that Yahaya still owes Telekom RM80.64. She also said Yahaya was satisfied with their explanation. Is it true?

In Malaysia, either the civil administrations or Government-linked companies, whenever there is something that had gone wrong, or not done right, nobody takes responsibility and nobody is held accountable. That's how it is operated. No lessons will be learnt. History will repeat itself.

Key performance index? Balance Scorecard? Efficiency and effectiveness? Continuous improvement? BULL-SHIT!

"just" a typo? oh come on, where in the world is there a company that keeps track to FIFTEEN (is that correct? couldn't count - kept losing track!) decimal places? I agree - this stinks. Malaysia boleh, all right. Geeeeeez
