Is there an Art of War that Prevent Crime?

Does Sun Tze Art of War helps to prevent crime?

Criminologist Prof Dr P. Sundramoorthy said the Sun Tze Art of War book is a must read for all policemen and the public as it will help prevent crime. State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Christopher Wan and management consultant Khoo Kheng-Hor draws on the wisdom of the 500BC military strategist to co-publish such a book to help the police to prevent crime.

“The writers came up with the 10-chapter book after researching Sun Tzu,” said Dr Sundramoorthy, a lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia’s School of Social Sciences.

“His strategies can still be applied in present times for crime prevention.”

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan launched the book yesterday.

This is the second book by DCP Wan. The first was Crime Prevention: The Malacca Experience written when he was Malacca police chief from 2002 to 2005.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Hamzah Md Jamil bought 10 copies of the book to be given to his heads of department.

Just a cynical view: if Sun Tze's art of war can prevent crime, Hongkong, Taiwan, Britain and USA would have their crime rate reduced or eradicated. In fact, the crime rates have increase.

It's the 3-Fs - It's utterly fallacious and frivolous and farcical.

Why not read the book first before condemning it with the three Fs?

It's really an interesting read because one of the authors has been teaching officers of the Singapore Police Force to use Sun Tzu's strategies for more than 10 years. It's only recently that he has finally been allowed to teach same to Royal Malaysia Police.

It is easy to judge, utter the 3-Fs, without first exercising one's brains.
