Globalisation, Liberalisation or Capitalism?
Has UMNO transformed into full blown capitalistic and commercial contract agency?
With $200 you can bury the political career of their ex-president and ex-prime minister? Mahathir believes, "Yes"!
Mahathir believes he lost in the Kubang Pasu election for a seat as "a delegate" because there was vote carteling(hi...only to be a delegate to a general assembly; not yet a post for leadership).
Have anyone heard of vote buying in PAS or MCA or Gerakan or KeAdilan? NIL!!!
But, in UMNO, the new oligarchy has set a new trend, a trend that had been entrenched for centuries to come, that everything, including your soul, can be "Willing Buyer, Willing Seller Basis".
"A preferred list and a RM200 bribe," Mahathir Mohamad explained for his defeat.
"Voters received RM200 not to vote for me," Mahathir moaned.
"I lost, but I lost because they used bribery to win the elections."
"It was very strange that a list containing the numbers of those who should be chosen was provided to a number of delegates and the people who won were those specified on that list," he said.
"The list, I believe, was put in a brown envelope together with RM200. So, the price of the honour of these delegates is RM200 and for RM200 they were quite prepared not to dumped me and choose other people," he said.
The former prime minister pulled out a sheet of paper which contained seven numbers and said the "preferred list" was circulated among delegates.
Number 10, which belonged to his son Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, who was elected as one of the seven delegates to the Umno general assembly was not on the list.
The list was purportedly given to him by a woman voter. Apparently, one female Umno member shook his hand and slipped in a piece of paper into his palm. It contained seven numbers of the canadidates contesting as UMNO national delegates.
The main stream media reported: Delegates bribed RM200, alleges Dr M. But they did not report something which Mahathir said.
We can read the other pieces at Jeffooi's report: QUOTE: "This morning, Dr Mahathir had two sessions to dislodge his new salvos through the press, one at the de-brefing to his party supporters, and the other at the press conference which was more jam-packed than last Monday's. I was an eye-witness at both functions."
"The centrepiece to his new campaign today is his calling of Abdullah a liar."
"Mahathir made three key points. First, he claimed money politics was involved in Saturday's delegates election in which Umno members were bribed to vote against him.
Two, the Khairy factor must be brought back into focus and appropriately dealt with again though the Son-in-Law has tried playing the racial cards against other Barisan Nasional component parties to divert Umno members' attention.
Three, Abdullah is asked to change his foreign policy and all his misdeeds, or he should get himself changed.[UNQUOTE].
It seems that if you want to read "News updates" you got to get it from Jeff who said he is just "Thinking Aloud". Has Jeff become the loudspeaker for the public's bulimia?

Sigh....just to show as people need to use thier 'kelapa' more...
unfortunately once again our humanity is prone to greed...sad day for any election whatsoever. Is this why we have not progressed? if the grass roots are like that then it really reflects what is up there. It is time to use our 'kotak'+ integrity. Guess nobody cares...our loss.
lepak-lad
Lepak-lad, you got nice words - kelapa and kotak ... I just learnt! Thanks and welcome. Your kotak works...hehehe
My suggestion to Tun Dr. M is jsut to sit down and relax. Give your comment and guidance to the people whom you have choosen to replace you. Support them and point to them their mistakes when no one is around. Do not publised and let the whole world know cos people from other parts of the world will be laughing at us. Stay unite and we'll keep on growing..
U mean last time under the old management the politik no money ? LOL!
Hi anonymous II,
Your idea: "Dr. M is just sit down and relax, give comment and guidance to his successor, Support him and point to them their mistakes when no one is around. Do not publised and let the whole world know cos people from other parts of the world will be laughing at us. Stay unite and we'll keep on growing.." ....IT SOUNDS IDEALISTIC & GOOD EXCEPT THE FACT THAT IN THE WORLD OF POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY AND REALISM, IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!
Your idea is good for a MU or USM thesis ...
In the world of political reality, when you point out a mistake to the oligarchy, you are construed as pointing finger. You will be look at with an evil eye, a trouble-maker, a nuisance, and a pest. And worse off, in the current scenario, Tun M was made a thorn in the flesh of the regime...all his policies, projects, and doctrines were reconstucted and packaged into a pandora box. To add salt, the graves of the past were dugged and paraded to proof some points ... you guess!!!
