Who says MIC didn't do enough for Indians?
Look at a success story of an Indian from Kedah.
See... he has a new Mansion, the size of an Istana
From a distance, one might think this house was a clubhouse or a hotel owing to the gigantic rectangular structure with gold trimmed columns similar to the Roman Colosseum.
This is the dream home of Mr. Appalanaidu.
“I’m enjoying enhanced bliss and harmony in my spacious house and I thank the Almighty for blessing me with a Vasthu friendly property,” said Appalanaidu, the father of four.
“Whenever I drove past a big bungalow in Kuala Lumpur, I used to stop at the front gate and admire the structure and imagine how I would own one.
“I moved into my house 10 months ago and prior to this, I lived in a single storey terrace house for 15 years.”
He has two kitchens and dining areas, both in the north-west – one on the ground floor for daily use and the other on the top floor for private occasions.
His master bedroom in the south-west is the biggest room with an attached bathroom fitted with a jacuzzi and shower facilities.
An oval shaped conference table with Internet facilities is used as the study room in the north-east.
Although the western and southern areas of his house offer a panoramic view of the golf course, Appalanaidu made sure there were no balconies as Vasthu disallows such openings on this stretch.
I don't know how rich is him and what is his business. He must be extremely successful. I am not sure whether the NEP and APs had benefited him or not. But I believed he must be a good friend of Samy.
Wish him good luck!

nah. me no think of indians poor lah. look at the 2nd (right?) richest man in our country - he is an indian, the astro/maxis big boss - anandan. then we have air asia boss too, an indian.
yeah i wonder what kind of business is appalanaidu into. and there was no mention of his family too. imagine! such a huge mansion! it could well house more than 10 poor families!
Welcome to Bolehland, the land where the richest of rich could be something like this while the poorest of poor could succumb to eating snails and using kerosene lamps.
well... to me every races also got their rich and poor community.
I agree with Kenny, but from the noise and commotion the UMNO Youth made about ONE poor malay village in Penang, you would think the only ones really suffering from the 50 years of subsidy and handouts and buyouts and bailouts and institutionalised discrimination - are the majority race who so happens to run the country.
This Indian chap making it into the news is already testament that Indians are still pretty much left behind. It's in the news coz it's a rarity.
Think folks from the ruling party living in mansions would make it into the news? Nay. Unless the newspaper is as thick as the Yellow Pages.
I was reading Sunday Star yesterday too. There were two pages on teenage mums and the one titled 'mum at 14' perfectly illustrates the simple life of a girl from a poorer Indian community. Such, is the gap between the rich, and the poor. Almost impoverished.
Wonder if you can snap photos of the mansions of those Tauke Mamaks who dominated the prime area corner lots...
Lucia, I'm sure people in Kedah knows him and his biz. You are in Penang, the nearest to him???
Howsy, in the world of capitalism, that's the fundamental But we can't blame the rich if they work hard to achieve success.
Kenny, u are absolutely right.
Just Josh, Welcome..Is this your first comment? Thank u in advance and I strongly agree with your points that it is absurd that UMNO Youth is making an issue of Balik Pulau just because the CM is Chinese.
Helen, I often read your essays and I think you point here hits the nail on the head..thank you.
Narrowband, I have yet to read the papers today and I agree with you that there are many poor Indians as compared to other races. There must be affirmative actions and political will to narrow the gap.
Gukita, siapa punya corner lot?
mmudahlupa, ya, it's time you get a mansion and please consider a room for me so that I can be your guest every month.
GREAT ACHIEVEMENT!
He used the law of attraction..i guess....he said that whenever he drove through big houses at KL, he would imagine he have that kind of house. And here it is...... EXCELLENT MAN!
i know him very well.very kind man indeed!!wish you all the best sir..!!
