This is real fun, and it happens in Malaysian Parliament.
While the Parliamentarians were debating on issues of the Higher Education Ministry,
Barisan MP for Kuala Krai, Datuk Mohd Razali Che Mamat directed a question to the Minister, Datuk Mustapa Mohammed about what was being done to balance the number of male and female undergraduates in local universities.
Since Mustapa was not in the House, his Parliamentary Secretary Adham Baba replied that the situation was similar in developed countries and it is not a scenario to ve overly concerned.
Then Datuk Mohd Razali made a supplementary question to the same minister:
"What the minister was doing to stop tigers from crossing over into Kuala Krai?" (a district in Kelantan).
Deputy speaker Datuk Lim Si Cheng asked:
"How this question is linked to the Higher Education Ministry?"
Mohd Razali replied:
"The minister was supposed to reply to the question as he is the MP for Jeli, where there are tigers."
Hahaha... Razali should have said the tigers from Jeli had crossed over to Kuala Krai.
What a nice parliamentary session. Our MPs are debating educational issues and tiger crossing territories is within the context.
NST posed the question: "What has the male to female ratio in local universities have to do with tigers crossing into Kuala Krai?"
Well, the standards of debates are so high that it isn't easy for others, including intellectuals to understand.... You need to be a parliamentarian to understand!!!
