2nd Finance Minister, Nor Mohamed Yakcop is proposing that 2-generations will be made to pay for the housing loan so that the target group will benefit.As a start, Pelabuhan Hartanah Bumiputera Bhd (PHBB) had purchased 3 parcels of land totaling 48ha in Penang Island from I & P, and TNB, and development would begin next year.
The government had also formed a property trust called Yayasan Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera with an initial capital of RM2 billion from tax-payers money to secure key urban properties for the Bumiputeras who could not afford them.
What about other Malaysians who also cannot afford them?

Baru-baru ini, tak sampai sebulan, Pak Lah janji, Kerajaan "will be FAIR and JUST to everybody"; that they will NEVER forget the rights of the other races as stipulated under the constitution; and that the government and UMNO MUST be responsible for not only the Malay race but also the others.

Don't think this is to help the deservingly poor Malays. Most poor citizens are in RURAL area! Move these folks into urban area? That would like giving me a Ferrari car which I cannot sell. I cannot afford its maintenance! Similarly, these poor folks CANNOT AFFORD the high living cost in the urban area!
What about poor Malays in other states like Perak, Kedah, Kelantan, etc? Relatively, they are likely poorer than the Penang's folks. SO, WHY ONLY PENANG? 48ha..that would be, at most, few thousands beneficiaries. WHAT ABOUT THE REST?
Only poor Malay are poor? Poor Indian, poor Chinese and others poor are not poor? They are all poor Malaysian, stupid!
This is not only obscenely racist. It's terribly flawed. But, can we expect a more sound policy from this government? Pray harder.
In malaysia, to be poor (to umno)means that the skin must have the right colour. After all, this was what the Americans did to the 'niggers' and Afrikaans did to the South Africans.
