“This will help the leaders refer back any shortcomings to the Cabinet for correction,” he said during the Public Services Department annual dinner here yesterday.
Abdullah said the role of the administrators was very important and they and their leaders were interdependent in ensuring that all decisions and policies made by the Government were implemented smoothly.
“Each must help and also appreciate the other. It’s a symbiotic relationship,” he said.
Openness or controlled openness? If what he said he truly what he meant, I think Malaysia as a whole would be better. But I am just paranoid for the fact that it's Cakap Tak Boleh Serupa Bikin.

We all now know that Umno is a racist party in the mold of the apartheid regime of South Africa in the last century, and also practices a big part of Hitler politics (master race).
These are the salient aspects of Umno politics.
Without these racist politics, where else is the strength of Umno! How can they win elections if they don't show and shout racist and discriminatory remarks to their voters and audiences?
I am a Malaysian Chinese living in Hong Kong for the past 15 years. I am a professional and am completely integrated socially.
Looking at my Hong Kong born sons, I am glad they never have to contend with the petty racism of Malaysia. Life is too short for that. No need to worry about government jobs or lack of career progress or scholarships because of their race. They will fail or succeed on their own merits. That is a very liberating thought for a father. I have no great fortune to leave them, but I have given them a chance in a society they can call their own.
I have taught them to respect other peoples and races. And to stand up for their own rights. They should be proud of their Chinese root and not be chauvinistic.
As for Malaysia? Well, they don't know too much about it. It won't be an important country for them. Economically it is too tiny to figure much on the big picture. Several major cities in China already have living standards that exceed Malaysia. Guangdong province alone has a GDP several times that of Malaysia. And it is still growing fast.
I wish Malaysia well for the sake of my relatives still there, but I glad I am not there. Migrate if you can. The West is good and stable but China has opportunities too. Integration is so easy that within one generation it is as if our ancestors have never gone away! Fast forward the all that years of civil war, cultural revolution and famine.
If you cannot emigrate, grumble freely and hope for better days.
Badawi can formulate any policy. On the ground level where the heads are not qualified themselves as their staff - many problems will arise.
Further the NEP will somehow make good researchers frustrated and will certainly be the main causes of frustrations. At best we can get the second rate staff to stay - the top ones will have no problem seeking better salaries and futures elsewhere without the glass ceiling overhanging their heads.
Our national sense of belonging will be lost when day in and day out we feel the impact of marginalisation in almost every sphere of educational or economic activities.
I think we are in even more for hubs of abandoned projects because it is the brains that matters, not real estate buildings which politicians are only good at how to initiate to build for their own gains. When coming to real research and real productive work, you only have lots of unemployable graduates lining up to fill them.
Best of luck Malaysia, while Malaysians of the best calibre are in our neighbouring countries creating state of art products and discoveries.
The people with brains first go to Singapore, then Australia, then the US. Apparently roughly two million Malaysians have emigrated since the 1970s. Wow, what a brain drain that is……….
She/He did the right thing by moving out of Malaysia. As long as is a non-malay and Malaysian, you will be suppressed. They don't need scientists but more keris wielding morons to run the expensive labs.
So anytime the experiment didn't work out, they can go straight and blame that the equipment is outdated. Anybody disputes their claim, they can take out the keris and showed their "power". Good for them. Malaysia is turning to a baboon infested country.
Let alone those whose have already left. How about those who came back earlier with their foreign wives! The immigration department has made their renewal of visa a living hell, and they are not allowed to work no matter how qualified they may be. Eventually these "loyal Malaysians" also end up packing their bags and leave.
The politicians can say one thing but it never gets implemented at the ground level. Look at the mess surrounding Malaysia "My Second Home" campaign - how many have actually come here and then left in deep frustration!
The racists in Umno will also make certain that such policies will be doomed to fail. They would rather give citizenship to unruly and uneducated illegal Indonesians than some non-malay PhD holders.
Get your children out of this sucking country before it is too late! This is a hopeless and dirty country with all the corrupted politicians and lousy ministers.

Emigrate to other countries looks to be a better option. Of course, the exodus has started decades ago. In fact, Umno will be most happy to see us go (race ratio, you know what I mean).
Umno does not depend on the second class citizens for the brains. They have the many universities in Bolehland to train their kind and churn out any number of experts you want. So brain drain is not a problem.
Today my son asked me an embarrassing question: Dad, what is a bumi?
I was embarrassed and told him: A bumi is someone who is always right. He was puzzled and asked me candidly: But if he says that 2 + 2 = 6, he should be wrong, shouldn't he?
I told him from my working experience in Malaysia, my son when you are non-malay and Malaysian, you will have to agree for that and even worst and smile. If you dare to argue you will be gently destroyed and degraded in your human dignity.
Whatever is your social position, situation or grade, any bumi even from the remotest kampung, even a mentally disabled bumi will always be right.
Then he asked, is there many bumi in the world? I told him that in South Africa 30 years ago and in Germany on the late 1930s there were some sorts of them.

Due to the education policies, most young and intelligent Malaysians have either cross over to Singapore and other countries to further their studies.
In fact a great number of them have been earmarked by the Singapore government before their finals to take up PR status and attractive jobs offered. Some of these Malaysians are actually in Singapore parliament to help the nation to progress.
Actually the fact that smart Malaysians who capable are going to other countries be it Singapore or Australia can be a good thing for the country or for Malaysian Chinese in particular.
Why?
In the age of globalisation, it is important to have roots and contacts around. These bondages among relatives and friends among all Chinese spread around the world can benefit trade in future. It is a form of bridge to better future. Companies headed by Malaysians can in future help each other.
We can never know what the future in Malaysia will be like given the circumstances. So in a way it is a good thing. It is like the old days when Chinese traded among each other in this region.
So stage one export our experts around the world - next connect each other. That is good. One day maybe someone will initiate an association of overseas Chinese Malaysians eh?
Malaysians are not genetically inferior to Singaporeans - we are the same kind of people except for the proportion of various ethnic groups. The reason why many intelligent Malaysians went overseas is due to a government bent on dividing us along religious and ethnic lines.
For too long Malaysians of all ethnic groups have been bamboozled by scoundrels who'd used divisive slogans to enrich their own pockets and the pockets of their relatives and cronies. Malaysians must unite and give the opposition a chance to do better.
Malaysians have been moving to Singapore for many years now and that has been their long term strategy since they allowed tens of thousands of Malaysians to study there.
I am actually a Malaysian but I was brought up in Perth.
You could say that my family (which is non-malays) was part of the brain drain of Malaysia society. My father was the first surgeon in my home state. He was educated as part of the Colombo Plan between Malaysia and Australia.
Many of his medical friends do not live in Malaysia any more. My friend's father also received a scholarship under the Colombo Plan and is a mathematics nerd. Many of my cousins now live abroad - one whole family (which consists of pharmacists and doctors) now live in the UK.
I have a cousin who is a lecturer in geography at a Californian university. This cousin was the chair of his faculty for several years. We also have a family friend who is Indian Malaysian who was a journalist in Malaysia before, but now is a lecturer in at my university.
The reason for us leaving Malaysia was because (1) we could and (2) better education system. You know how much Asians place importance on education!
Just because malays are the majority doesn't mean that the minorities should be oppressed. I have met a few awesome and smart malays - the weird thing though is that they all went to Chinese schools. I am not sure if that is actually related, but I thought that was very weird.
But I think the special privileges should be removed. They were only supposed to be there (as agreed by other parties) that the malays would receive the special privileges for a set number of years.
I think the whole special privileges thing is a sham. This set number of years is over!
Hi I am a malay. And I have never liked the concept of Ketuanan Melayu in the first place. I believe in equality and justice. I believe in fairness. I believe that Malaysia should be for all Malaysians not just malays.
It is wrong to be double standards. It is wrong to discriminate and oppress the minorities. It is after all, against Islam. But oh, the Muslim people I know would rather talk about appearance and threats rather than addressing the basic issue of human rights and justice in Malaysia.
I am sorry that you guys have to suffer the consequence. We should all turn our backs on MCA, MIC, Umno and those craps. Opposition seems to be fighting for the better Malaysia for all Malaysians. And I support the effort.

Msia was very vocal against the apartheid in South Africa, and is still very vocal about the Palestinian issue. But, who are these very politicians kidding? Wrong if the events take place half-a-globe away, where most of them cannot pinpoint on the map, yet perfectly fine for them to practice it in msia?
These bunch of racist bigots need to realize that msia is very close being marginalized in the global arena. The economic data, the unemployment rate, the crime rate and various indicators are very clear signals that things are going horribly WRONG!
