Hishamuddin: Razak Report was obsolete

Razak Report was obsolete

According to Hishamuddin, the Razak Report was obsolete and that Bahasa Malaysia could not be the only medium of instruction in schools. (Could Hishamuddin clarifies this statement, please. This statement seems contradictory with the various policies and rules currently in place.)

The MCA welcomes Hishamuddin's stand on developing Chinese education in the country.

Party president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein’s comments in an interview with Sin Chew Daily was very positive.

He added that Hishammuddin's comments had helped eliminate any anxiety the Chinese community had on the ministry’s stand in developing Chinese education in the country.

In an exclusive interview with the daily yesterday, Hishammuddin said that the Razak Report was obsolete and that it was impossible for the Government to use Bahasa Malaysia as the only medium when conducting classes at Chinese primary schools.

Ong said MCA leaders had always conveyed the views of the Chinese community to the ministry and Hishammuddin. He said they understood the concerns and worries of the community.
