MIC President Samy Vellu announced that a new type of NEP would be launched to help identified Indians to become entrepreneurs.MIC is discussing with the government to set up a RM100mil fund for 4,000 Indians to start small businesses.
Samy said feedback received by MIC indicated that the Indian Community in at least 12 states showed that a large number of Indians were interested in becoming entrepreneurs.
Why 12 states? Malaysia has 13 states? Which one of the state Indians did not show interest to become entrepreneurs? There are millions of Indians in Malaysia; why only 4,000 of them are interested to become entrepreneurs?
MIC had proven that they are now doing more for some of the Indians than MCA had done for the Chinese. At least they had RM100mil to distribute to their own community. MCA is still distributing cookies and school bags.

RM100million for 4,000 Indians is equal to RM25,000 each. What about the rest of the approx 2 million Indians? Probability for an Indian to get this RM25,000 windfall is 4,000/2,000,000 = 1/500. Will non-MIC Indians be eligible? Or will the RM100million end up like Maika

12 states because the Indian in Sarawak wont need micro credit. They're merchants to begin with when they came to Borneo during British times. -- i think
given his track record, its hard not to doubt his sincerity. anyway, the money is for who? only MIC cronies who support him or true entrepreneurs. i am for it if it is the latter and is available for all deserving entrepreneurs.
