Criminals & Criminalogists on the Prowl

Rape gang on the prowl

Women have been advised to be extra careful when travelling alone as police believe there is a gang preying on them.

This follows two recent incidents where the victims were abducted, gang-raped and robbed before they were released.

The first incident was when a woman in her 20s, was abducted from a car park at an undisclosed location in the Klang Valley about 9am. The suspects were in a Toyota Camry when they stopped beside the victim and bundled her into the car.

The victim was held overnight in a house, raped and forced to withdraw RM3,000 before being released on Thursday morning.

In the second incident, a 20-year-old woman working for a newspaper was abducted near her home at USJ 6, Subang Jaya at 4am on Sunday. The victim had parked her car when four men in a Toyota Vios confronted her and her sister.

She was also raped and the suspects demanded RM4,000 from her. She withdrew RM2,000 from her bank account and was released at noon on the same day.

In both cases, there were four assailants. Selangor CID chief Senior Assistant Commissioner II Mazlan Mansor said police had received two reports and believe both cases were linked.

"We believe both cases were committed by the same gang," he said. The victims were forced to withdraw money through automated teller machines before they were released.

Safety, security and freedom is severely curtailed by crimes, oppression, suppression, and totalitarianism. As we observed, there's just so much worrisome rumors going around and with the high-profile representation in a trivia case and a low-profile representation in a superstar-profile case, this speaks volume of the rising totalitarianism which would be insidious.

Would anarchy catch up with lost time? Someone had re-write and re-produced the movie V-Vendetta and hosted it at youtube. That new movie is frightening. It's like watching Basic Instinct where the stories in a novel is made real. It's scary. Was it a remaking of Basic Instinct and Vendetta? Was it due to the demise of democracy and liberalism? Was Failure the call sign? Was Oppression and Authoritarianism the fundamental trigger? Was Power and the obsession to hold-on to power by coercion and immoral sanction the root of discontent? The acts must have had backfired!

This is really scary and for parents out there, please do give a call to your daughter (if you have) to watch out and stay at home more. I believe the crime rate all over the places in our country is increasing drastically despite you are living in the capital or other states. Girls out there, beware of people around you.

whats new about these incidents? all and sundry has been shouting on top of their voice about the sharp rise in violent crimes for the past few years. did BIG EAR hear it and what are his priorities?
1.buy new jet so that he can travel more often in style and comfort.
2. top cop investigate their own kind expeditiously so that a underworld kingpin can be released from his restricted residence.
3. with top speed, get the police to charge 31 Hindarf members for attempted murder coz he is very angry with HIndraf movement for their lies.

meantime, cops will give you the standard answer whenever violent crimes happened.."cooperate with the cops and you, the victims have a role in preventing future crimes".
WHAT THE FUCK SHIT IS THIS?

Mave,

I fail to see any connection between social discontent or misrepresentation of cases mentioned and the rape cases reported. It points to criminal mind pure and simple. The present open sky atmosphere is just too condusive for criminal minds. Everything that cross the mind are portrayed in lucid details on the celluloid or lcd screens. Nothing is left to imagination. Life, morality, values are fast becoming scrap metals for Perwaja. Is it any mystery that crimes are escalating? Everyone need to fend for him/herself. The law is too late and only arrive after damage is done. What's the solution?.... I dunno.

I am just thankful the 2 girls were released at the end. Did the police issue any guidelines for the masses on what to do if someone gets abducted?

To pay ransom or report to police and not pay? What is the correct procedure here?

Gukita,

I truly love your point: "Life, morality, values are fast becoming scrap metals for Perwaja". I never thought of that! You are a great philosopher.

Do you think social discontent and misrepresentation has no connection with social ills? If a governmental system are efficacious, resources could be effectively utilised to enhance control and foster harmony. There is a lack of good relationship between the citizen and the police. Furthermore, we have police spending most of their time in political activities management and this cause the lapse in the protective and preventive management of the society. Apart from it, we ain't blind to the fact that most police efforts are placed on activities such as traffic-speeding ticketing, organized crimes & collaborations, business-strategic alliances (4Ds, VCD & DVD piracy joint-ventures, horse-racing bookmakings, etc). Like what Syed Aidid (former High Court judge ) said, "Honest judges mostly live in terrace house". So, if police officers are worth $27m or more, and judges are millionaires, it pose a negative corelations in the hypothesis.

Helen,

your posers are hard to find a single right solution. A risk is a risk, and any solution in a crisis moment have their unmitigated consequences.

Mave,

You revert back to the general fundamentals, whereas my comment was on the specific of the rape cases and its relation to social discontent and misrepresentation of efforts by the law enforcers. I have to agree on your points of contention as a general principle.

Maverick SM said...

Gukita,

The specific rape case is unrelated specifically to the current social discontent and misrepresentation and it's frivolous to draw a connection to directly relate the two. I am not doing that and I hope I didn't intent to misled you to it too.

However, I am corelating the issues to the lapse in control and poor monitoring system which contributes substantially to the deterioration of the social security and safety of the community. The increasing social ills and insecurity can be attributed to the inefficacious security and enforcement system of which the police and government holds the responsibility and fiduciary duties.
