The virtue of Criminologist

He is the Attorney-General. he has no time for Altantunya's Murder trial. But he has time to spent in the Session Court in Shah Alam to lay charges against 26 people who allegedly took part in an illegal gathering at the Sri Subramaniar Temple in Batu Caves on Nov 25.

And the AG's office had appointed an exceptionally high-powered prosecution team comprised Abdul Ghani, A-G’s Chambers’ prosecution head Datuk Yusof Zainal Abiden and Selangor prosecution chief Nik Suhaimi Nik Sulaiman for this case.

The 26 were charged for "Attempted Murder" under Section 149 of the Penal Code that was punishable under Section 307 of the same code.

Are the Hindraf demonstrators that bad? Was there mens rea for murder? How would the prosecution team derive evidence of mens rea? It's puzzling! What has become of our criminal law and criminal justice system? Have the fundamental philosophy of criminology changed abruptly to suit the current situation? Lest we forget what happens at the Article 11 Forum when a group tried to disrupt a legally constituted forum; the forum organizer were asked to abandon the forum to appease the illegal demonstrators and people who with the necessary mens reas to disrupt a peaceful-legally constituted forum.

the millions of commission have already been pocketed and she has to go trying to get a fair share of that. after the shoddy C4 job, a showbiz must be conducted as the finale. why should the AG get involved personally then?
no, this is different. this is at the beckoning of the government here to teach these minorities a lesson not challenge but to continue to be lapdogs. whatever flimsy reason, the AG must act as directed by the UMNO led government. who cares if the innocent indians who are by the way mere statistics go to jail with doctored charges and a compliant judiciary to see them guilty as hell. after all this charade about unity and security, all will be calm and the powers-that-be can continue their plundering of the country. This is sad...

For attempted murder don't they have to prove intent?

Did the policeman leave anyone a large chunk of his retirement fund and misc so his benefactor(s) wants to do him away?

The lawsuit ploy didn't sounds right to me. But now, no more doubt that the internalization of the issue was the only way to go.

Can the burmese ever achieve anything against the murderous regime in their own backyard?

whats the difference between derobing the monks nad send them to jail and this mind boggling charges of attempted murder. trying to potray some form of rule of law here? simply, we are no better than the dastard regime in Burma. Keep your mouth shut about democracy and civility. Badawi and gang, you have all lost moral ground to talk about that. and much more, dont even talk about your Islam Hadhari. I dont knwo whats the word to use to describe your hypocrisy which is in the highest order.

Waste of public resources. Looks more like a case of wanting to get even with those who demonstrated.

Banana republic type kangaroo court.
What a bloody disgrace, Malaysia is deteriorating so fast.
I foresee the day, not too far in the future, when other SE Asian nations will overtake Malaysia as far as all forms of development, including human development, true democracy, justice and racial equality and fair distribution of wealth are concerned.
BN has once again reached another low point!

Hindus - are Murders?
====================
A big team of police at the main gate
stopping Hindus to attend court!
what the cause?
Order by the court?
Or anyone on record?
They scared Hindus in front of the court!!

Attempted murder
must be planned
with target in mind!

Did the Indians came to the Police or Police came to the Indians?
Fists and Feet against water cannons, teargas, clubs, thick boots, shield and guns?
Bringing along women and kids around?

Or Hindus are Hercules
in the Rally??
