Moderation, Fanatism & Extremism

The Prime Minister called the moderates to speak up, for if they didn't, the fanatics will occupy centre stage to push their extremist views. And then extremism will be seen as the religious or national approach in our country.

"We have to safeguard all that we had achieved. We must never allow any form of extremism to destroy our nation," PM said.

I totally agree with the PM. But how do the moderates speak up against the extremists who are the executives and most of whom are from UMNOs?

We have plenty of records, videos, newspaper publications of all those extremists where no action had been taken against them. Each time when these extremists, who are MPs, Ministers, UMNO leaders and son-in-laws, created tension and make seditious statements and threats, nothing was acted upon or against them. They were allowed free reins, to continue their bigotry acts with implied consent and concurrence; instead those who voiced out against these extremist views, those who voiced out against factual discrimination and marginalization, these mourners were classified as extremists and were arrested by the police, interrogated, subdued and emasculated, and those hardknockers, they were ISA-ed.

So why call the moderates to speak up? Who are those moderates? Who are allowed to be classified as moderates? The yes man? The conformists? The bodekers? The subdued?

Have we forgotten that there was one ex-chief minister from Melaka who said something about Parangman, "... so do not force us to do so as we will draw our parang (machete) to defend the Ketuanan Melayu (Malay supremacy) in this country.” What action had been taken against this extremist? Did Uthayakumar said such words? He didn't but he is ISA-ed. That ex-CM is going great guns, roaming the streets and calling shots with blessings.

What about the MPs who asked that crosses and statutes in missionary schools be demolished as was done by the Taliban. Wasn't this extremism?

What about the minister who said the word Allah can only be used by Muslim but no one else when the word is universally referred to God the Almighty, the God of Abraham, the God of Moses. Didn't the Quran said that Allah was the same God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mary, and that Muhammad did not come to teach of a new God but the same Allah.

The irony is the fact that, Kelantan, being truly an Islamic State, governed by Syariah Law, allowed the construction of Buddhist statutes and temples, and with the blessings from Tok Guru Nik Aziz.

What about the "U tak suka, you boleh keluar."

What about Khairy's statement where he said: “It does not crossed my mind to apologise to those who are hurt by what I said… For me, if we truly fight for our race, one should not apologise.” Hindraf were truly fighting to defend their race and if we can accept Khairy's contention, they did the right thing. If they are wrong, Khairy is wrong too.

What about the: “Datuk Hisham has unsheathed his keris, waved his keris, kissed his keris. We want to ask Datuk Hisham: when is he going to use it?"

Melaka delegate Hasnoor Sidang Hussein said at the UMNO GA: “UMNO is willing to risk lives and bathe in blood in defence of race and religion”.

UMNO Youth Exco member Azimi Daim added that “when tension rises, the blood of Malay warriors will run in our veins”. (Prompting the obvious question: What happens when there is no tension? Whose blood is running in their veins then?)

I'm sure there's a lot more. If we are to cite it here, it could be miles in length.

So, in conclusion, what and who are the moderates and who are the extremists?

UMNO should learn from Tok Guru. In Kelantan, there is no religious issues between the Muslims and the others. There is no calls to demolish statutes or to forbid the construction of temples. But it is an Islamic State, governed by Shariah Law. Everyone respect Islam, the true Islam, not the "had"-type.

The first question I would ask is - who are the moderates that the PM is talking about? We need a benchmark and if he thinks that Kerismuddin is a "moderate", then I reckon anyone who is opposed to that view is extremist ?

I really think that someone should ask him if he thinks Kerismuddin is a moderate. Let us understand first where the "moderate" playing field lies.

The village mullah is just engaging in "Dullah-talk" to make himself appear as a moderate now that the GE is approaching

Wah! Today you put a lot of meat on the BBQ grill!

Agreed. AAB cannot ask for unilateral support from all when he practices double standards and allow some to go unpunished.

The law is for all.

Staircase for Moderation?
_________________________
Moderation towards Fanatism & Extremism on a plate?
How will they be related is the play!

Fanatism = Extremism?
Panatism is opposing, so = Opposition?
So Panatism = Opposition = Extremism?
So, Moderation against Opposition taken as Extremism!!?

Who will oppose Opposition? = BN?
Then BN against Opposition taken as Extremism?

Last Silent Majority = Damai= Nanai = BN?
So, Moderators = ?????= BN?

What kind of Puzzle is this?
Is this a kind instigation?
What a mindset?

I think there may be a conspiracy intensifying to bring down Dollah. Extremist they may be, but i dont think they are 'that' stupid. so much money they sapu, sure they have their little evil genius advisors. i think all these has a purpose.

i was just thinking to myself, if dollah come down, who is going up? I was thinking, behavior can switch from bad/good wan ma...easy only. see naz(r)i, one day he talks like his mouth is connected to his cock, the next day, he is talking like a gentleman agreeing to postpone the SCC. BUT failure to govern...hmm...i think it would be harder to convince rakyat to give a failed leader one more chance lor. So if dollah kaput, then everyone else has a sudden urge to be extra niceties, what would the rakyat do ar? i think most road lead to "give them one more chance la"..correct correct correct?

I took a long break and when I checkout PPS, the 'Allah' thing caught my eye. A lot of ppl from both sides are already talking.

The thing I am curious is not what we cannot use... it's what happens if we do. Tolerance is measured not by what we can do and not do, but, what happens if other ppl do it.

"Moderators" in last Rallies were the Police!!
Moderations were Water Cannons & Teargas!

"Moderation" against Hindraf Lawyers are ISA!
Moderators - AG & IGP!

The same weapon for the Protest & damage!!
Shame & Sad on the same spot!!

So, who will be the "moderators" against the Fanatism & the Extremism?
& What will be the "moderation"?

The Rains & Storms before the GE?
Terrors from the hands of the confused to confusing!!

Concentration on the Ballot Boxes!!
Let those confused to confusing gone!!

This is philosophy with mathematics; it is science!!!

Ycg,

You tend to prefer conspiracy theory. It may be a point to consider, but I personally doubt.

Helen,

I can say that many just don't read the Quran to understand.

Sharing,

Would you give us a poem on election?

All are very bad for a ruler or the State
Election will reflect the state!

The MP should do the questioning!!

I thought you could share some of your thoughts about Kelantan and your opinion of the difference between the other parts of Kelantan.

Religion could be anything
But not the Sky nor Earth
that give you everything.
From food to nerve
if you have the heart to "earn".

To learn what will steer
the spirit to pure
with a wisdom to peel
what are real.

Not in isolation with classes
but in co-operation even with grasses.
Not only with glasses
but with flashes.

To look for association
for a better organization
with harmony with sympathy
taking minority helping disability.

Not a dream
if fairness is the stream!
Not by luck
but your heart
before it went dark!

"Moderates and moderation", both semantics have been thoroughly tortured beyond recognition.

If anything is immoderate by nature, how do you invent a moderate version of it?

Wits0.

There's no answer to your proposition.

another good one from you.

Gukita,

I accept your contention.
