Power & Greed: Most can't let GO!

“If I decide to stay on, I will be doing it for the country. Who wants this job? It is a tough job.”

“It is my pleasure to continue serving the people. I will do my best to ensure yet another fair election is held. I’ll do what the framework of the law permits me to. I am happy to extend my service as the commission chairman for another year, or at least to see the next election through.”

It is a tough job and who wants this job? But he wants, and he wanted it so badly!

But he says he's doing it in order to serve the people. The people? Who? The Oligarchy?

The people had voiced out loud their stand; they had submitted a memo to the King. It's definitely the people who wants in the corridor of power; that's the people he referred!

Power, influence, wealth, that comes with the position. It's lucrative.

Han Fei(280–233 BCE) : Six pests of the society

In the ancient time, a Chieftan can
give up his post because the rewards is not greater than normal people living style : what he eat is no different than normal people, and he stay in a small hut like others.

In present day, even a small village headman refuse to let go his position.

The reason are due to the rewards that one may get for present day village head man.

So it is nothing to with present day mindset vs ancient age mindset. Everything is cause by the rewards/loots that one may exploit.

The old deaf horse is spot

Poor horse!
Or maximize use of the horse?

What an slimy, subservient, greasy, and compliant apology for a human being this gutless twerp is.
He hasn't one iota of respect by the voters, and the General Election is likely to be a sham under his leadership.
The overpriced transparent ballot boxes, are a gimmick, from which some have profited handsomely, these transparent boxes do not in any way ensure that the election process is transparent.
Is the so called indelible ink for the finger (middle finger?) truly indelible??
Each and every voter should consider his or her vote very carefully, and vote for a better future, free from the narrow minded racism, religious bigotry, bribery and corruption, greed, hypocrisy and nepotism we all have to suffer today.

See, our people are one of the strangest for allowing authorities like this mangkuk to still hang on to power. The muslim head of in the country championed virtuous value of islam. The have prayers up to 5 times a day to remind themselves of that. But for what I can see, these are all a waste of time. Take this mofo for example, everyone know he is lying through his teeth, yet he still dare to talk the way he did...look at that picture of his smile. I donno la, maybe the more they pray, the more screwed-up they become. And if the leaders are like that, what is to become of the followers? like chinese saying "shang liang bu zhen, shia liang wai" trans as "if the top is not proper, bottom will be crooked as well".

these ppl is no different from the MCA related fellas who would even sell their mother just for a chance to lick UMNO's as*.

may be some cats will pee at his grave after he has passed away. slimy? this fella has onion skins, layer after layer to shield him from feeling shameful.
go lah,Ec go join UMno so that you be part of the ruling machinery. why wait, further?

"I will be doing it for the country. Who wants this job? It is a tough job."

I doubt he will be doing it without any pay. It all boils down to $$$

This is the line each politician must learn to talk.

This dude is not chosen by us so I guess he can spare us those lines. Leave them for those beauty Queen wannabes.

Can't let go of greed and cook up those cockamamie excuses of hot air.

The Clngons and the Klingons so dots the Bodohland's official landscape, turning it into a semi desert, poisoning its prospects.

Lucia,

Ya, U got it right!

Gukita,

We can't be naive to think that they what they do or acted is isolated and individualistic. They are strong and influential personality who commands extensive support and could move the emotions of a community.

As a Malaysian, I had great admiration and respect for Tok Guru Niz Aziz as a model Muslim, a fundamental and original Muslim who speaks in consonance with what the Quran preach. He may have weakness and at times can be a recalcitrant, but he is honest, virtues, and a good Muslim. I am glad that there are Muslims who have similar integrity, but without disrespect to any, I hardly can identify a few within UMNO.

Moo_t,

I haven't read about Han Fei yet; I will with the link provided. Thanks.

Sharing,

It's a great poem; but can you transliterate (translate lah).

Clear as a Bell,

First and foremost, thanks as I think it is the first time I see this moniker at this commenter. Thanks for sharing your opinions here and we all love your company.

Ycg,

I apologise but I do not agree. Behaviors, acts and political schemings have nothing to do with a religion nor God; it's individualistic and not related to any religion and its teaching.

A weak leader is weak bcoz of their ownself, not bcoz they are Muslim or Christian or Buddhist. We should not correlate.

Helen,

What and who are the beauty wannabes? Confused!!!!

Zewt,

You are right, we are so ....

wits0,

I don't understand..... very deep language; explain please!!!

Maverick,

Re: the "Poem"
The "wisdom" is on the Ruler who chose the old deaf horse who can repeat the way on his own. No worry if he will listen to someone and no need of repeating the instruction.

A wisdom to turn "disadvantages" of one into "advantages" for the others!!

Of course he must be fully satisfied with the horse's past performance!!Or, he worries that others cannot "perform" at least equally well as last!!

According to Chapter 2 of Dao De Jing, the "wisdom" will most probably encourage People to discard raising normal horse!!

Lying, cheating and screw the country is indeed a tough job! But then, if so easily discovered, how difficult can it be?

Maverick SM said...

Sharing,

Thanks for the explanation.

Hasilox,

I love that...lying, cheating and screwing is truly tough job. But it was discovered; it was seen visibly.

MAv,

dont get me wrong. i did not mean to belittle islam. the way i see it, islam, in teory, is one of the most beautiful religions. What i meant in my earlier post is :

These ppl, ie head muslim (means Dollah) and the other leaders (eg Rashid, Nazri, Maidin...etc) who prayed in full (i assume they will not skip any prayers) should be the best of the best, moral & spiritual but unfortunately they are not. That's why i said, the more they pray the more screw up they are. I did not mean islam is a bad ifluence and that they should not pray, but pray as they did, why they do not heed to what Quran teaches them (hence, i said 'a waste of time' for them)? What i'm hinting is that they are personnally weak and does not practice what they preach!

And i say 'shang liang..' which means my attack is directed at those running the country. If these ppl can hide behind their religion and still do what they do, dear mav, dont you think this will be a bad influence to their followers?

read it again and see if i did say that one is weak because they professes to islam. pls. Sorry if sounded mad and long winded. Must defend my reputation because there will be no meaning for me to support Barisan Alternative and walk with my brothers on the street if i am thought to be a religion hater.

Not anyone in particular. Just that those beauty participants will say they'll strive to save the world and humanity. And I think even profess to die for humanity if you give them the crown. BUt then of course it's BS.

Maverick SM said...

Ycg,

Thanks for the clarification and I truly appreciate it.

Helen,

No one can save the world or humanity. We can't even save ourselves; that's why we need salvation.
