Election News (part 1)

NST reported that DAP said: "Malay vote still with Pak Lah!"

Is it true that DAP aka Lim Kit Siang had said such thing?

Is it true that Malay votes are with Pak Lah? There were many Malay bloggers and many others who left comments in various blogs of which we can observe that the Malay votes aren't with the sleepy head.

According to Liew Chin Tong, a political researcher, "There is no dislike for Pak Lah among the Malays. The angry voices we hear are among the urban Malays. In fact the rural folk are very happy with him for providing aid and all kinds of assistance."

According to Liew, PAS and PKR will have difficulty of winning over Malay votes as the problem lies with the redelineation of constituencies which Liew claims has created an uneven balance of voters and seats.

So, wasn't the EC a co-conspirator with the BN government to skew the whole voting system? That's undue influence! That's a crime!

Amir Sari, another political researcher, is of the opinion that the Malay voters are not as angry as their non-Malay brethren which he attributed to the government's discriminatory assistance to Bumiputeras. He believed "Chinese voters have access to the Chinese newspapers, which are more open to the opposition, and they can form different opinions."

Meanwhile Khairy Jamaluddin has launched a campaign "Pade Doh," which means 'enough is enough', aimed to get outstation Kelantanese to vote for BN.

"We are telling the people that 18 years of empty promises is enough. It is time for change," Khairy said at a press conference.

How true, how true, Khairy! Enough is truly enough. We Malaysians have enough of those lies and corrupt legislative representatives. It is time for change; it's not 18 years; it's 50 years!

But Khairy may get his wish. Outstation voters would be injected into Kelantan to ensure BN defeat PAS.

One good example is Sharmila from Subang Jaya. She’s a voter in Kelantan, although she’s never registered.

35-year-old housewife, Sharmila Thuraisingam said her husband discovered that she was listed as a voter in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. That was before the 2004 General Election. She reported the matter to the EC to get the error amended but to no avail. They said nothing could be done because she was already registered as a voter in Kelantan. She then quickly registered a change of her address to Subang Jaya, but a check online on Feb 10 still shows she is a voter in Kelantan. State Election Commission director Jailani Abdul Majid said he needed time to look into the allegations. Maybe, it can possibly be rectified after the 2008 Election.

How many more others from everywhere, including Sabah and Sarawak, had their registration transfered to Kelantan and various other opposition controlled seats in other states, only Khairy would know and only he has the power and influence to make sure of such.

Not only names were transferred; some were even created, and none of these people need to be present during voting days as the votes can be automatically and postal cast in their favour.

As such, Barisan can be assured of winning, without your support or votes. But how far can they do this? The opposition can monitor and expose the scam if they are vigilant.

Whatever it is, let us elect only those men capable of governing others in order to govern themselves. Lets remember that, "when the force of the laws and the authority of their defenders is lost, there can be no security or liberty for anyone."

No one, irrespective of their position or might, could claim to be above the law, and no one from outside could dictate any law that the state was bound to recognize. For whatever might be the formal constitution of a government, if there is one man who is not subject to the law, all the others will necessarily be at his discretion.

The right to elect legislator must not be usurped from the citizens, for they know better who are most suited to represent them in this country of ours.

no wonder all wawasan 2020, glocal are cakap tak bikin..... the gov has no intention to develop so the proportion of rural (under developed) is always higher than urban (modernized), and guarantees bn in power.... as long as kampung folk never use before internet and tv, bn will always at the throne......

Yes, rural Malay are happy. Just because of the heavy subsidies.

When the sledgehammer of globalisation and Malaysia become net oil importer in year 2015, they will be the first to be scarified.

They have nobody to blame but themselves.

2015 just 7 years ahead of us, we will see.

Denzook,

Apparently you don't understand what is gerrymandering! Go wiki it.

United Nation survey has already show that worldwide rural population are dwindling rapidly.

Not only is there voters creation, there are also voters being bumped off the list. Most likely it happened to those who voted oppositions. Is there any wonder?

Denzook,

Wrong! Not the government; for as long as UMNO keeps the Malays paranoid and continue to instill fears about the threats by the Chinese control over the nations' economy, and continue to show that the NEP is never achieved, the Malays would continue to vote for UMNO. UMNO had exploited this phobias for umpteen years, and it works.

Moo_t,

Rural Malays are happy not because of the subsidies; it's their fear and the threats of the Chinese economic power and propagated by UMNO that kept them intact within UMNO's grasp.

Msiaman,

You are right; I miss that dumping part.

Very enlightening.
The SIL is trying to influence the voters in Kelantan, and besides this there may be behind the scenes jiggery pokery too; a counter campaign should be started on the lines of:

“PADE DOH!”
(ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!)
DUMP BN

The time for change is now.

50 years of empty talk, corrupt legislation, misrepresentation, lies, bribery and corruption and insincerity.

DUMP THE BN NOW, at Federal and State Elections. VOTE WISELY.

“PADE DOH!”
(ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!)
DUMP BN
