Election News (part 2)

Najib said the Barisan Nasional will not field politicians who are being investigated by the ACA.

But the ACA comes under the prerogative of the prime minister; so how can they ensure they would be unbiased?

Jayanthi said an ACA officer telephoned her to say that the investigation was closed because it involved several high-ranking officers in the government.

There are testimonies that shows the ACA can closed any investigation on those whom they deem fit to close, for reasons only known to them, and not necessarily of reasons that is justified and justiciable.

Jayanthi was even paid RM3,000 by the ACA. Isn't this bribery? Who bribes who, now?

Actully the RCI is useless and spineless. I would have asked whether ACA has money or where did they get the money to reward/award Jayanthi.

They cannot simply take govt money to give away, that will simple be a breach of trust or cheating the govt if the money came from ACA accounts. Or it could have come from the Tun, or the lingworm or the Singer salesman.

Why did not RCI probe further. I want to know who gave or authorised the RM3000.

Huh, no Valentine's Day post? :-P

Let's face it, if the issue is honesty and integrity, then there's no candidate to field. lol

ACA = Another Corrupted Agency

Being investigated by the ACA only means less corrupt than those protected by the ACA.

Who is there to catch them? Can we do a citizen arrest on them? People admit to such a thing to a RCI and yet nothing is done. Who else can we turn to?

Nowadays, it seems that more and more people are above the law. What's the point of having judges, law-makers, lawyers, police, ACA etc etc, if we are just going to ignore the law, the legislation and the constitution??

"Jayanthi said an ACA officer telephoned her to say that the investigation was closed because it involved several high-ranking officers in the government."

so jayanthi spoke up in public what we had suspected all along! the evidence is now clearly there for all to see/hear.

but what is the RCI doing about it? what is our gomen doing about it? absolutely nothing!!

well not only the ACA but also the police i'm sure will close their files when they involved high ranking gomen officers or VVIP or super duper rich people. if not close they dare not touch them. e.g. our DPM in the altantuya's case.

Artchan,

Haidar said the RCI is not empowered to investigate corruption. The terms of reference is only about the Lingham and the influence of the appointment of judges.

Helen,

Honesty and Integrity is not our culture, says Information Minister Zainuddin. He said we thrive in a crony culture; that's our Malaysian Integrity.

Hasilox,

Ada China Adawang.

Zawi,

Why catch them? Aren't we suppose to join them? em!!!

Hopeful,

None are above the law, Hopeful; as the law-goalpost always change to suit.

Lucia,

I repeat: Haidar said the RCI is not empowered to investigate corruption. The terms of reference is only about the Lingham and the influence of the appointment of judges. Read the articles yesterday.

here is an example of a cover-up (but not to do with corruption).

agree..you are right about corruption part, RCI is not empoweres..but I still maintain the RCI is spineless, and but and if the question is asked on the source of money, it can may also finger the person that is trying to influence the appointment of judges.Maybe the money came from the worm or the worm's holiday mate, or the tourism worm..

Former Court Of Appeal Judge NH Chan should have been appointed as a member of the RCI instead of Khoo who has not spoken a word yet. I don't know what is he there for but maybe silence would not show his ignorance.

Maverick SM said...

Artchan,

NH Chan cannot be appointed because it is the prerogative of the prime minister to appoint whom he believed would deliver his chosen path.

Lucia,

Thanks.
