Phillix,

Thanks for the link; I'll visit Joel's place.

The picture was sent to me and requested that I post it to "educate" the public, including myself.

Moo_t,

I wonder too...

Didn't it occur to you guys that the driver of car reg WPK 6393 is handicapped... mentally retarded!

bayi said...

Mentally retarded is probably the best description for this driver!

Once a friend of mine parked at a proper car park lot at the LRT station in Bukit Jalil. When he returned to get his car, someone had double-parked and blocked his car from getting out.

There was a message at the windscreen of my friend's car. It said, "Pleas call me at xxx-xxxxxxx when you want to get out." My friend was happy that the offender was at least considerate.

He made the call. A lady answered, "Wait for me ah. I am nearby only. I am in KL and will come back soon." She came back half an hour later. My friend was cursing under his breath!

Same type of mentally retarded driver!

In Japan, a blind man can walk anywhere on his own, there's braille markings on staircases, markings on roads, chirping crossings etc.

In Australia, a handicapped man can wheel himself un the bus / train unaided.

And we bitch about a stolen handicapped parking lot! We are light years behind many countries, shame on us - there is not enough facilities around. Those that are available are only for show - not fully followed thru. For example, is there a wheel ramp up the staircase? Or floor markings for the blind to guide him?

We should do better than that, we are still in the stone age in some areas.

Public awareness and education are important keys to the success of developed countries like Japan and the European countries.

In Japan, everybody going up the elevator stands on the left so that those in a hurry can overtake without hinderance. Just compare how it is here.

In Japan consumers llok at the expiry date of the products and take those nearest to expiry so that the shop will have a better chance of selling the remaining stocks. It's obvious we do the opposite here.

Though this appears to have nothing to do with the car parked in a lot meant for the handicapped, it is the pervasive thinking that culminates in this way of life. In other words, it's the unhealthy part of our culture.

the driver of car reg WPK 6393 will never ever try this trick again once some "good" samaritan add a few artistic scratches on the bonnet and other other parts of that car

Bayi, agreed,..... a handicapped parking lot means the driver is handicapped. Here, it means the car is carrying a handicapped passenger.

after this our government have to coe up with more "Civic Minded" campaigns, but you cant blame the government if the people themselves STILL dont want to change their attitudes!

Retard! tan tard!

aiyah..

aussie also like dat wat..they found many young brash and arrogant idiots (I shudda sent them app forms to join amno lah) who secured handicap shields (85yr old fader, mader) with better legs than you and I so they can park expensive cars at premium places !!

so why would we think msians are different?

Anonymous said...

Must be understanding lah..

The driver of the car is handicapped in the eyes, handicapped in reading English, handicapped in parking the car properly, in handicapped attitude and the brain too.

This why the driver is 'qualified' to park there.

Suggestion to parking management, pls add this sentence to the signboard; "Park here you soon be one!"

A deeper analysis of the situation from a fellow disable blogger.

http://www.petertan.com/blog/2008/02/04/abusing-accessible-parking-what-ky-saw-at-sunway-pyramid/

Note that we should educate ourselves and others that we should try not to park at the disable parking even with a disable family or friend on the car as these parking are REALLY for disable drivers.

Malaysianlover,

I don't know and the picture may not have suggested.

Bayi,

Read comment above.

Your friend should have called the police for help.

Jefus,

You gave a good moral lesson.

CK,

I'm not sure of Japanese you said, but I know they aren't.

Farzain,

I just can't stop agreeing with you.

royalpriest,

This picture was put up to educate the society at large and not for the objective of punishing that car owner. That owner should be contrite by now and let's forgive him. But I want to have the general bloggers and readers support for a civic conscious society.

Denzook,

You could be right and I want to believed it is so.

Edi,

Don't laugh, my dear. We want this picture to help educate the public.

Gobloking,

You are right; I agree that we can see this in almost every country, maybe, except Singapore but Singaporeans do the same when they are in Malaysia.

David,

I like your suggestion.

Sorindian,

I agree with you.

DENZOOK! HELLO! the handicap parking sign is so HUGE. and how in the world can a car park over a handicap parking sign?!?! i think even my very shortsighted uncle can see the sign from a mile away!

this is reminiscence of the personal attack for karpal singh to stand to his feet, during the parliamentary session. not that i'm his biggest fan, but still. haiz...
