RM9 Corruption: ACA made Major arrests

Malaysians can now breath a sigh of relief.

The much awaited efficiency and effectiveness of our anti-corruption agency is now bearing fruits.

ACA Deputy Director-General Datuk Zakaria Jaffar announced that the Agency is now investigating bribes amounting to RM9.

"The amount may be small but it's still an offence under the Anti-Corruption Act 1997 for giving a bribe," he told reporters.

Zakaria said the highest bribe amount the Agency investigated in Kelantan in the last 5 years was RM1,500.

A total of 60 people were arrested and charged with corruption in those 5 years.

This statistics is only for Kelantan State only.

We should expect to see a far effective and efficient ACA and the agency will make sure that all those corrupts, the RM9 to RM1,500 arrested over the last 5 years will be heavily penalized and the DPP will ask the judge to impose the heaviest penalty to deter all others from accepting pay-offs.

Statistically, if the agency can arrest and eliminate all those who were indicted for the graft between RM9 to RM1,500, the national corruption index would dropped to below 1% which would then placed Malaysia as the World No. 1 Zero Corruption Country.

This article should serve notice to those who accepts payout as indicated to be extra careful.

Looks like ACA can only catch ikan bilis.

Lesson: If you want to bribe, you had better think big. Small bribes expose you to the dangers of being netted by the ACA.

How about me bribing my kids with candy just to get them go to sleep early or to do their homework? Or buying them a PS2, so that they will obey me all the time. Am I going to go to jail for this?

Now peoples are becoming more stupid just to show how effective they are in doing their job.

To me, they just fail to understand why those lower income taking a RM9 or RM500 bribe. Yes, it is still a bribe. But why did they take it?

Then, why close one eye on those higher ranking officer who is earning a very big salary, more than what his basic needs but become very greedy and taking such a big amount of bribe, more than thousands of ringgit, even sometimes millions of ringgit but manage to get away from it.

This is the law........Malaysia style under BN.

WTF? i can already imagine what the headline would be if the US were to make fun of Malaysia "Malaysia Anti Corruption Agency breakthrough new corruption fighting resolution: starting from bribe of US$2.70 odd". i think it would be an insult to receive bribe of only RM9...very insulting leh!

RM9 is the price for a kg of Mutton (Goat) like Samy Vellu leading a Goaty life; and he thought Indians are Goats, not realising that he is the Goaty Goat!

anon 3.18 what is smaller than ikan billis? planktons may be a more appropriate description.
give this guy credit. at least, he is honest and candid about the obvious.
to the ACA, there is no corruption at the top. the corrupts happen to be the poor and at the lower food chain also coz they will compromise their integrity for a pittance of RM9.00 to RM1,500. Syabas ACA

ROFL. This is ultimate stupidity.

2000 years ago, ShangYang, a Ching Kingdom minister, in order to show the country willingness of reform, rewards 1000 pieces of gold for anyone to move a piece of log that he put on central of market to another side of the city.

Nobody believe the rewards. But after a few day, a person did it and get rewarded. ShangYang start the reform, and in 10 years, it transform the Ching kingdom to the strongest country compare to other 6 smaller kingdom.

Politician that live in 2000 years ago know how to to show the will of change with big rewards.

WTF the ACA show their works by catching ikan bilis?

anything more than 1.5K bribe is always linked to either a BN member or some big shot. So ACA has to avoid those, had to settle with catching petty bribe.

Semi Velly,

There is no more big bribe, only small bribe. Big ones are commissions for consultancy services.

I thought RM9 was a misprint and was looking for the 'million' behind the number.

LOL! Wonder how much the taxpayers paid to uncover the massive RM$9 bribe?

Maverick SM said...

Flaminglambo,

It cost the ACA hundreds of thousands a year to maintain their expenses and salary. At least the cost is reduced by a few dollars here and there.

I think ACA should be listed company to make more money. So people will have interest on ACA.
