Women's Dilemma? (Part 2)

From the book:
Kiss My Tiara
by Susan Jane Gilman

Beauty & Women's dilemma

"Cosmetic surgery is not Cosmetic - it is Surgery!

"All the magical before and after pictures don't show people with their faces black and blue and swollen up like beach balls, or with their nipples cut off then stitched back on, their breasts bisected by scars. They don't show us all the painkillers we'll need to be on, or the risks involved with going under anesthesia.

"Ask a woman why she want to be beautiful and many will eventually admit: "For men", "to be loved", "to get laid", "to get married".

"From time immemorial, women have been taught that beauty is essential for attracting a mate. Men are aroused by what they see, women are told.

"And yet, when it comes to men, women have also been told something else with equal fervency: 'Men will fuck anything.'

"So, which one is it? Do women have to be beautiful, or will men fuck them anyway?

"An informal survey conducted reveals that, men are far more likely to fuck any of them. Men are polymorphously perverse - they can fetishize anything and just about do! Their erotic imaginations know no bounds.

So, relax, ladies. Love and sex will come your way even if you're not a "great beauty". And, when all else fails, remember this: As grandma used to say, Hey, you're the one with the pussy. What are you knocking yourself out for? Let men get on their knees and beg ... of all things, sex!

Finally, just in case you forgot the Rule: To address women's issues without humour in this day and age is sort of criminally negligent. Because, really, it's the only sane choice. If we don't use humour and irreverence, what are the alternatives? Anger, fear and victimhood - and Goddess knows we've had enough of that!

Today's Thought

Let the ugliness of unkindness in others impel those who suffered to make themselves beautiful with loving-kindness. May the harsh speech and statements from the self-proclaimed champions of mankind/onekind remind us of their "sweet words" always.

If stones from evil minds are cast at us, let us send in return only missiles of "goodwill". As a jasmine vine sheds its flowers over the hands delivering ax blows at its roots, so, on all who act inimically toward us may we shower the blossoms of forgiveness.

Women's Dilemma?

From the book:
Kiss My Tiara
by Susan Jane Gilman

"Most women today wants two things: (1) some smart, no-nonsense advice about how to navigate the world, and (2) to laugh. Ideally, we want both these things at once.

"Woman have acquired all the responsibilities that come with sexual equality, i.e. earn their own paycheck, but few of the equal benefits. They were encouraged to be empowered but vilified for being feminists. They have more career opportunities than ever, but somehow they still get the message that: 'A bustier, not a brain, is the real source of "Girl Power".

"Women are inspired to scale the corporate ladder, but they are also fully aware that it still bumps up against the glass ceiling, and that, more often than not, some guys is still peeking up their skirts as they climb.

"Many corporate women's personal battles are not in the boardrooms or courtrooms but in their own bathrooms.

"It is true that most women literally can't see past the nose of their face.

"For women's progressive prima donnas, The Rules, at first glance, is nothing but a warmed-over version of the "Trade your hymen for a diamond" formula that nice girls followed.

"My grandma said: 'Have another piece of cake and wash it down with a gin and tonic.'

"My grandma also said: 'Take a few lovers, travel the world, and don't take any crap.'

Finally, remember: To address women's issues without humour in this day and age is sort of criminally negligent. Because, really, it's the only sane choice. If we don't use humour and irreverence, what are the alternatives? Anger, fear and victimhood - and Goddess knows we've had enough of that!

Chinese defender: Mahathir & Ibrahim?

Malaysian Chinese gets the biggest surprise of their lives when we read that Tun Mahathir Mohamad has now become the most ferocious defenders of minority rights - the RIGHTS to gamble.

Mahathir's recent defence of the right of the Chinese to gamble demonstrate his willingness to take positions that is seen as diametrically opposite the ones he took in his Malay Dilemma doctrines which he has so often espoused.

Vincent Tan is so happy to note that: Now, the Chinese has a Malay leader to champion their rights.

In another event reported, Ibrahim Ali called Prebet & MP YB Khairy Jamaluddin "STUPID" for defending MCA Youth head Wee Ka Siong on scholarship matters. However, Ibrahim is not against the Chinese RIGHTs to gamble as he deems gambling as a Chinese culture.

Vincent Tan or Albert Tan, Ibrahim loves the Tans ... Panji Bersatu? Ya, bersatu lah!

But, prostitution is also regarded as a Chinese culture ... could it be legalized too; Singapore had legalized it! Eh, having mistresses is also Chinese culture, tradition and practices ... can we also legalized it?

Gambling: A Chinese Culture?

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Aziz said the Najib administration’s approval of sports betting through Vincent Tan’s Ascot Sports Sdn Bhd was a way to “respect” non-Muslim rights in the country.

Nazri said the government needed to take into consideration the rights of other citizens in the country and not just Muslims who form the majority.

“You must remember that the country do not belong to the Muslims. We have to respect their rights.

“Jangan semua undang-undang berdasarkan keperluan orang Islam sahaja (All laws in the country cannot be based on only the needs of Muslims),” Nazri told The Malaysian Insider this week.

“Our tendency is to always think from the Muslim point of view, as if non-Muslims are not an important part of this country. We cannot be like that, we have to consider their rights,” said Nazri, who is also an Umno supreme council member.

*****
This is the essence of rational thinking. But such thoughts and thinking pattern aren't the common sense amongst the people. Most of the time they exude inconsistencies and portray themselves as radicals, insulting themselves by belittling themselves. Hope the people of this country will have Nazri's shared philosophy and thoughts; ... but Nazri is inconsistent too. Maybe, Vincent is. You bet, football is a good game to watch; but don't bet your life away.

Construction Business Illusion

NAZA TO BUILD UP CONSTRUCTION ARM

NST-BizTimes
June 15, 2010, page B7

NAZA Group of Companies plans to grow its construction arm and take it overseas to bid for high margin building and infrastructure projects, said NAZA TTDI Sdn Bhd Group MD S.M. Faliq S.M. Nasimuddin.

Faliq said construction is more challenging as compared with automotive and property development and he is far more confident that his construction division will grow in time to come.

"We have the key people in the company. There is a lot that our construction arm can do," Faliq said.

***********************************
Is construction business so lucrative and profitable? Go asked those contractors ...

Are international construction projects giving high margins as compared to local projects? Go ask those contractors who have the years of experience; go interview these companies: WCT, UEM, Gamuda, LCL, Peremba, Bina Puri, IJM, Mudajaya, Mancon, Pilecon & Suncon.

Case studies:

WCT suffered massively when the RM4.6 billion Nad Al Sheba Dubai Racecourse project in Dubai was terminated. The project is a JV between WCT and Arabtec, an Emirates-based construction company. It was awarded as a build-only contract from Meydan for the construction of main building works, external works and infrastructure works in September 2007.

UEM suffered massively in it's Qatar Highways - Salwa International Road - 1st Phase project. Qatar PWO is seeking QR878,318,972.06 (which is approx. RM850 million) from UEM.

Gamuda and Peremba suffered similar fate. Pelangi Bhd and Kuok Group suffered losses in Phillipines. There were many many more unreported cases of international project catastrophes. And, you may also like to do some research of other international contractors who reeled the roller-coaster of project disasters, companies such as: Daewoo Construction, Keang Nam, Takenaka, Kamugai, Hazama-Gumi, Obayashi, etc.

Oh, we should not forget about Sime Darby Engineering's RM1.3b losses in Qatar Oil and Bakun cost overrun (Read here: Dato Salleh's Brickwall and Big Dog's Scandal )

In 1998 we saw the demise of super construction giants such as Pilecon Bhd, Promet, Ekran and Ting Pek King, Soh Chee Wen and his group of companies, Soo Tian Chai and his group of companies such as Mancon Bhd, Anson Perdana Bhd, Robert Chuan and his Eden Bhd and Sriwani Bhd, Cygal Bhd, Bestworld, Esprit Bhd and many other 1st Board 2nd Board listed companies.

So, is construction business high margin lucrative business? Is construction business challenging or illusory? I've been in this industry for 30 years, working with more than 10 giant corporations building houses, roads and infrastructures. I am still involved in this industry in a consulting capacity. BTW, there is no such thing as 10% profit margin for contractors; maybe, if you are lucky you'll get 3%. Oh, if you get direct-negotiated non-competitive projects such as Design-Built or Cost-Plus Contracts you may have better margin; but the caveat is - you need strong cable and is a part of the oligarchy.

So, Mr. Fariq, I know you got a good team and a good management team; but project management is far beyond being good and hardworking. It is beyond crunching numbers and construction management. It is Project Management and Process Management - a competency that is still illusory and badly understood. There are just too many false prophets in the field of Project Management.

Khairy will rescue Gaza & defeat the evil regime

Israeli Commanders and Navy Seals were simply shaken and sweating profusely when they heard Prebet Khairy issuing the following ultimatum:

“If another attack happens, we [Malaysian] will rise. I am sure the [Malaysian] people here will sacrifice our lives to fight for this.”

Askar Khairy assured everyone that:

“if Israel attacked another ship heading to Gaza, the Zionist regime would have to deal with him.”

"We will not only demonstrate, but we will also make sure that we go to Gaza to defeat the Israeli regime,” said Khairy, who graduated as a "private".

"We are ready to go there ourselves to help in Gaza. We hope the Malaysian government allows more ships, 10, 20 or even 100. We want to open the eyes of the world to what has happened,” he added.

On whether he will be proposing for more ships to be sent to Gaza, Khairy said he will discuss this with Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and other NGOs such as Perkasa.

"Our fight doesn't just stop here. Imagine if 100 ships from all over the world go over, how can they stop us. If we have strength in numbers, Umno Youth and everyone will all go," he said.

Asked if he is prepared to go, Khairy replied: "Of course."

(Ref Article)

Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin had recently enrolled for the month-long Territorial Army programme. He graduated with flying colors and Negri Sembilan MB Mohamad Hasan presented him with the best overall and best academic awards.

Khairy said the foot-drill was the toughest as he had to go through several hours of training under the blazing sun. Malaysian sun is really hot and it is surely tough for the trainees.

Now, the Prebet is ready and able. He is willing to lead a battalion to Gaza to defeat the Israelis, should Najib agrees to sent 100 ships.

"Khairy is coming to the rescue of the people of Gaza and he will spearhead the demise of the Israeli regime" (quote here). Many suggest that he should also invite Mahathir and Ibrahim Ali to travel with the battalion of ships to Gaza. It would surely scare the shit out of the Israeli commandos. But Ibrahim and Mahathir had yet to enroll for the Wataniah training and may not be able to withstand the tough training under the blazing sun. However, someone suggested that this can be solved as we have umbrellas which can be used to shield the sun.

Whatsoever, we condemn the actions of the Israeli commandos for their actions on board of Flotilla. Whatever the reasons, they should not kill those unarmed human who were doing humanitarian works. And I must applaud Prebet Khairy for his bravery.
