Perak bickering solved

Alls well that ends well.

The people will get what they may have preferred; a PAS MB, 3 Excos and a deputy MB(2) from PKR, and 6 Excos and a deputy MB(1) for DAP.

PKR deputy president Dr Syed Husin Ali said they are happy now. Syed Husin also said the new state government will also appoint a PKR representative to be one of its two senators.

Lim Kit Siang has not said anything about his/DAP's acceptance of the formula of distribution. PAS is also quiet about it but I think they are happy as they now get 3 MBs nationwide.

Let's get on with the management of the state. The new govt have a lot to prove; they had to do better than the previous, failure which they will be cremated in the next election.

Big News: Uprising Star in UMNO

Meanwhile, UMNO is going through a new round of revolution. RockyBru and Malaysiakini reported that UMNO MP for Jerlun, and son of Dr Mahathir has written to Pak Lah asking him to quit.

Below is an abstract translation of his letter which was copied to Najib and the 3 vice-presidents of UMNO. (translated text taken from Rocky's blog and letter copied from mykmu.net)

[quote]

The sole intention of my letter to you is meant to save UMNO and BN from being rejected further by the people and from being no longer relevant to our religion, race and nation.

Dato' Seri, the people are unhappy and the message from them is very clear, and that is they have rejected you as the nation's chief executive.

Contrary to your claim that you still have the support of Umno and other component parties, the reality is that even our own party members had reneged in their voting pattern by supporting the Opposition and inflicting the BN its defeat.

Dato' Seri, when the people held street demonstrations you openly dared them to resort to the ballot boxes to demonstrate.

They took your challenge by coming out, especially tho people in the Peninsular, and they demonstrated their feelings by voting us out at the BN at State and Parliament levels.

It is therefore clear that your leadership and your handling of the issues faced by the people and the nation are no longer accepted. Let's not deny the truth just for the sake of keeping your seat as Prime Minister.

For the love of this country and the people, I beg that you take responsibility for the defeat. We can save UMNO, the BN and the nation only if you relinquish your positions as Prime Minister and the President of UMNO.

If you do not resign in the near future, I fear that the situation will become untenable and that the Malay support for Umno and BN will be a thing of the past.

This plea I make without malice, and I am aware that your reaction and that of other UMNO members could very well be hostile.

But come what may, I am prepared, for the sake of the Malays and UMNO, to face the consequences of my action. With all humility, I leave my fate to Allah SWT.

Malaysiakini's report also states that Tengku Razaleigh had also urged the premier to accept responsibility for the dismal electoral performance.

"The coalition was "defeated and shamed on a scale without precedent in our history," he said Sunday, calling on the entire cabinet to step down.

"To begin immediately the process of restoring ourselves, the leadership team must wake from its slumber, face the truth and accept full responsibility for this debacle," he said.

Is this Mahathir's last wish? Is Najib smiling inside the toilet? Muhkriz, you'll surely be in trouble!

That is a compromise. 10 excos are not enough. The BN excos are rubber stamp, so it is fine to limit it to 10, IMHO even 1 is too many.

Malaysian hate to increase the number of excos because excos are BN MB/CM rubber stamp.

BTW, I call it compromise because this is not the best solutions. That's why I suggest to increase the excos number.

Moo_t,

I think it's immaterial the numbers of Excos; what's the criteria must be, honest-hardworking-competent Exco members who are selfless.

glad to hear that the situation in perak had settled. so are we going to see state concessions like timber, quarry etc up for open tender? or still the buddy2 system?

See Fei,

I hope the new govt would not be concentrating on raping the state natural resources but start with building up cottage industries that support MNCs' supply chain. This way, it will prosper the nation and integrates into a global economy which is far sustainable.

AAB will wait for 4th floors boys to tell him when to go.He is still sleeping.

But I like his warning to Guan Eng. AAB is practising how to act like an opposition member.

10 excos just unrealistic. How much can 10 excos do? They must also look in the PAST,PRESENT and FUTURE.

BN excos know they are rubber stamp. But it is unrealistic for BR to think excos post are superman, knowledge machine.

i sincerely hope that they are not bickering over the exco seats to secure projects for their pocket.

Haha ... for all the daring do displayed by Mukhriz, I wonder how Khairy is going to neutralize this attack?

Pak Lah, Ong Ka Ting and Samy Vellu all under respective attacks from within their parties to step down.

At the end of the day, they may end up like the 3 CM candidates from Gerakan when Anwar creeps from behind and snatch the Prime Ministership from under the nose of BN!! HAHAHAHA !!!!
